The Next Grantville Action Group Meeting will be July 8th July 8th, 2010 That's right. In July we will meet on the second Thursday. GAG on "Freedom Watch" Judge Andrew Napolitano hosts a show on Fox News called "Freedom Watch." This show covers issue relating to the U.S. Constitution and personal liberty. Our issue of abusive redevelopment in Grantville is listed on the show's website. If we get enough votes, they will do a show about us. Please go to this link: http://freedomwatch.uservoice.com/forums/16625-freedom-watch-show-ideas/suggestions/837451-eminent-domain-abuses-g-a-g-in-san-diego-ca?ref=title . Vote for Grantville and leave a comment. We could get national coverage! (Forward this link and tell your friends to vote, too. I hear you can vote more than once; everyday even.) Lawsuit Update As you may remember from the last update, the Administrative Record for our lawsuit to stop the transfer of over $31 million of Grantville's property tax revenues to downtown projects is complete. The defendants—the County and the Redevelopment Agency—have replied, and they dispute some of the documents we want in the record. GAG attorney Craig Sherman is going through this now to determine which documents and their significance. Overall, it looks like we are still on course to have our case heard on September 24th. Be sure to donate. We now have an outstanding legal fee balance of about $4,400. If you have not contributed to the cause of legally responsible redevelopment in Grantville, or have not contributed in a while, now is the time! You may donate via Pay Pal at www.GrantvilleActionGroup.com, mail or drop off a check (payable to GAG) at the address below. Thank you to those folks who continue to help fund the cause. Congressional candidate Michael Benoit Mike has been a friend and supporter of the Grantville Action Group for a while now. Previously, we used his flyer service to deliver flyers to the community, and he donated supplies for our "Grantville is not blight" yard signs. Mike is the Libertarian candidate for the 52nd Congressional District. He will talk to us about taxation, tyranny and tea parties. The First Round is on Us! As usual, the Petersons will buy the first round at the bar for everyone in attendance. Have a beer, glass of wine or a cocktail on us! What: Grantville Action Group Meeting Where: Grantville VFW, 4370 Twain Avenue. They are donating their space to us. Buy a cocktail and tip the bartender.
