Grantville Action Group (GAG)


Meeting Minutes

2/1/2007

Meeting started 6:30 p.m.

Thank you and opening remarks by Brian T. Peterson, DVM. Gave overview of Grantville situation and how GAG could serve as a coherent advocate for Grantville residents and businesses.
Group discussion on whether Kaiser would still relocate main facility to Vandever if Centerpointe went ahead first.
Group noted that court date for Grantville challenge is in March. Letters, email, etc. should be sent to County Supervisors.
Group discussion re: possibility of getting seats on the Navajo Planning Commission. Participant stated Grantville and Allied Gardens do have seats, but was not sure of persons providing current representation. There was a past attempt to separate Allied Gardens-Madaffer was against, so didn’t happen. Person stated Del Cerro and San Carlos seemed to have deciding votes. Also noted the Navajo Community Plan was being updated.
Mention of condos to be constructed at the old Alpine Glass location.
Also mentioned that agenda for NCPI meetings not known until published.
NCPI election in March, but need to have attended at least 3 meetings prior to election (rep double-checking that requirement). Meetings are usually held third Monday of the month.
Also noted that another access to I-15 needed. Princess View bridge is sensible. Madaffer is against.
Membership concerned Madaffer not representing Grantville interests.
Group question: Was supplemental EIR done for Centerpointe?

Vote- Should there be a Grantville Action Group? Yes, unanimous.

Discussion regarding group structure, making the community aware of our presence, visible group for media presentations.

Vice-President: Mark Tyler
Secretary/Treasurer: Linda Wilson.
Yes, all votes unanimous.

Committee established to prepare and coordinate GAG media coverage.

Vote-Grantville Declaration adopted by unanimous vote.

Mention of flyers as possible way to inform the residents and business owners of GAG and its purpose.
Media event - create and/or participate. Media committee will coordinate.
Ad to be in local paper.
Establish GAG website (established 2/2/07 – www.grantvilleactiongroup.com)
Introduce GAG to the city council by appearing and speaking during public comment.
Current goal is 500 supporters. Email will be sent to all members with Declaration Signature form attached.
