| Grantville Action Group (GAG) Meeting Minutes 3/1/07 Meeting called to order 6:35 p.m. President’s introduction and review of the GAG mission statement for new attendees. Also recapped GAG successes over past month: Website up, media event, flyer distribution, letters and responses from city & county officials. President opened floor for non-agenda comments & discussion. President reported support for GAG from the group Citizens for Private Property Rights.. President’s report given. Treasurer’s report given. Voted on and approved minutes from the 2/1/07 meeting. Centerpoint discussion and status reported. By unanimous vote GAG does not support Centerpoint. Main concerns are diversion of taxes due to Grantville’s current redevelopment status and traffic impact not satisfactorily addressed. GAG library to be established. Site to be determined later. Tierrasanta Blvd. extension discussed. This extension used to be in plans, but disappeared. GAG voted unanimously to favor the Tierrasanta Blvd. extension due to safety concerns (Cedar Fires) and traffic congestion relief for Friars/Mission Gorge. Grantville redevelopment plan should automatically be cancelled if it does include the Tierrasanta Blvd. extension. GAG official wording voted upon: The Grantville Action Group resolved that to improve traffic flow, correct safety issues, and facilitate the enhancement of Grantville, an extension of Princess View Drive to Tierrasanta Blvd. must be constructed. Grantville redevelopment must not proceed unless this vital link is completed. The Grantville Action Group resolves that we will work for the promotion, construction, and completion of this roadway. Area captains philosophy discussed and accepted by unanimous vote. Discussed fund raising ideas to offset expenses. Discussed having booth at Springfest in Allied Gardens 5/5/07. Discussed possible media event for Tierrasanta Blvd. GAG position announcement. Next GAG meeting will be on 4/5/07 at 6:30 p.m. |
